Part of the Quarantini 2022 Advent Calendar. Both Jeanette and April purchased the calendar, would do a tasting, and then send tasting notes back and forth. There are also videos from Quarantini about each gin, and sometimes those were watched, though after doing the gin tasting so as to see how much we agreed or disagreed.
Tasting notes:
April - Will this actually taste like juniper berry?!?
Smells perfume-y, with a bit of pine tree. Not like an air freshener, not overly intense, but pleasant enough. I think I prefer the Gobstoppers scent, but this is still good.
There's a bit of an interesting flavor on the front, though in the end this one mostly just kicks. Maybe there's a lingering juniper berry flavor, but I've been tasting so many fruit gins that I'm not sure if it's what I think gin tastes like.
I think this one just gets "ok". I think I'd put it below the line of purchase, mostly because this just seems to be alcohol, and not much interesting beyond that.

Jeanette - Geruch: Endlich… ein Gin der nach Gin riecht! Botanicals und ein bisschen Rasierwasser
Geschmack: Der Gin schmeckt, wie der Name vermuten lässt, nach einem klassischen London dry Gin. Die typische Wacholdernote ist sehr angenehm im Vergleich zu all den fruchtigen Vorgängern im Kalender.
Die Schärfe vom Alkohol ist länger anhaltend, eine leichte Note von Zitrus und vielleicht Pfeffer ist neben Wacholder zu schmecken.
Der Nachgeschmack ist nachhaltig und erinnert mich ein kleines bisschen an Süßholz, was ich bei anderen Gins im Kalender auch wahrgenommen habe.
Ein ordentlicher und wohltuend weil klassischer Gin… sicherlich im oberen Feld auch wenn er nichts außergewöhnliches an sich hat… aber das hatte ich mir auch gewünscht
Gavin - Tried on 17 Feb 2024. Not the best London Dry Gin ever. Tasted like a bottom-shelf gin. Maybe a shelf up from that.
