Purchased at the Schloss Charlottenburg Weihnachtsmarkt in Berlin in 2023. Jeanette and I tried this at the stand, though after purchasing the set. Jeanette had wanted to taste this gin in particular, because of remembering that Gin Hamburg - Hafen Spezerei had sandthorn flavor, and that she liked it, and that this gin also claimed sandthorn. But, unfortunately, as seen in the tasting notes, this flavor did not come through.
Tasting notes:
April - Quite strong, and had a strong juniper flavor. It seemed like a proper gin, though perhaps too intense for my tastes.
Tasting again in the new year, with the purchased bottle, it smelled a bit sweet, and was spicy through the mouth. I don't think it's a favorite, but it's okay.
Jeanette - Strong alcohol taste. Strong citrus or lemon note. Less juniper and really sad that there was no Sandthorn taste.
Tasting again in the new year. The smell is like some orange-cleaning thing. The taste is strong alcohol, sharp, fruity, and still no sandthorn flavor. I guess it's not a favorite for me. It's too much like bathroom cleaner.
