See the [Google doc] for pictures from the trip. Our tasting notes are, "2013 petit sirah - dark chocolate smell - liked by all, i think".

From the tasting list:

2013 Petite Sirah, Amorosa Vineyard

Double gold - 2015 American Wine Society Commerical WC

Gold (90 points) - 2016 Winemakers Challenge

Heavy toast aromas from barrel-aging really stand out, along with graphite and gunpowder. Hints of blue fruits, juniper, and citrus are prevalent on the periphery. The aromatics carry over to the palate, where flavors of grapefruit, broiled blood orange, roasted beets, and huckleberry compote dominate.

213 cases; 23 months in American Radoux (50% new); 13.5% alcohol

From the bottle:

You may recognize the Loma Prieta name from the famous earthquake of 1989, but the Santa Cruz Mountains also play host to America's premier mountain vineyard area. Located at about 2,300 feet in these mountains, our winery offers spectacular views of Santa Cruz and Monterey. We also offer handcrafted wines produced in small lots and barrel aged in the finest oak. Enjoy!
