Jeanette found this one online, and got this and the Monoceros Vilana because of the connection to the family name. The two wines were interesting on their own, but solid chance they get purchased again almost entirely because of the name, and the constellation on the front.
Tasting Notes April - Interesting, though not sure how much I like it.
Feels like it has a hint of fizziness. Taste is not watery. Wine seems very tightly wound, so maybe it's just young.
Alcohol is fairly forward, but not super unpleasant. Definitely some berry flavors in there, but lots of bitterness throughout.
Probably something worth trying again in the future, perhaps with some age. Obviously, it being branded "Monoceros" is a strong item in its favor.
Jeanette - Geruch: säuerlich aber voll und ein bisschen metallisch Geschmack: intensive Säure mit ein wenig Prickeln. Vielleicht liegt es am Alter? Beerig nach roter Traube aber die Säure überlagert den fruchtigen Geschmack. Im Abgang glaube ich etwas „er könnte in einem Eichenfass gewesen sein“ zu schmecken, bin mir aber nicht wirklich sicher. Auf jeden Fall hat er Volumen und ist nicht wässrig. Nicht mein neuer Lieblingswein aber schon wegen dem Namen ein guter Kauf.
