Jeanette found this one online, and got this and the Monoceros red because of the connection to the family name. The two wines were interesting on their own, but solid chance they get purchased again almost entirely because of the name, and the constellation on the front.
Tasting Notes April - A little bitter, but no wet dog flavor or alcohol shivers for me. It's... interesting. Not sure that I like much about it, but it's at least different from most other whites I've tried.
It doesn't taste watery, or overly fruity.
We tried it with the liqueur de Châtaigne, and you could definitely taste the added flavors, but the bitterness was still the predominant flavor, so I don't think it was improved with it, this time.
Jeanette - Geruch: klassisch nach Weißwein, vielleicht ein bisschen sauer. Geschmack: vollmundig aber eher sauer. Im Nachgeschmack ein bisschen bitter. Es ist ein „schwerer“ Weißwein, der interessant aber nicht unbedingt richtig gut schmeckt.
Modifikation mit Maronen Likör : es ist schmackhafter… durch den leichten Karamell-Maronengeschmack wir die Schwere vom Wein etwas abgemildert.
