Jeanette Tasting
Purchased this at Ulrik-P while on the island of Rømø in Denmark. This is one in the set of three Fanø-sourced rums (Havmanden Skibsrom - Fanø Spirits, Kaptajnen Skibsrom - Fanø Spirits, Havfruen Skibsrom - Fanø Spirits).
The store had a variety of interesting things; not just alcohol, but April ended up getting this because of it seeming local (even though she didn't visit Fanø, though it was somewhat nearby), and rum is always helpful to have around for putting into pie dough.
Tasting notes:
April - Smells a little bit medicinal. Taste was spicy into immediate alcohol shivers. Aftertaste was mostly okay, but still involved a larger amount of burning of the lips and in the throat. All in all, not _terrible_, but I wasn't a big fan. But it should work well enough when made into a strawberry rhubarb pie.
(Translated) Aroma: woody, with a hint of caramel and a typical rum aroma. Taste: intense rum aroma, with a slight hint of plastic, wood, and vanilla. The rum has a strong alcoholic taste but is surprisingly mild on the palate. For sipping neat, it tastes too much like classic rum for my taste, but it’s a solid choice for mixing.
